Initiating a call from the watch (widget)?

Is it possible to create an application (widget) that would allow you to call (initiate) a phone call to a connected phone?

I mean, adding 4-8 contacts/numbers and quick selection / call, dialing them on the watch. So that you can talk on headphones connected to the phone.

Theoretically Venu 3 has such functions, but on FR265/965 etc. such a solution would also be useful.

In the past I found such widgets/app "Call Dialer" "App dialer" etc. they still required installing an app on Android additional.

Unfortunately, they are no longer supported/working for a long time.

It’s easy to pop up a number on the phone that can be clicked to actually make the call.

To automatically make the call requires a permission on Android that Garmin app knows nothing about. That’s why you need an Android app (to provide the permission).

I only find the “app dialer”.

The IQ app has 44k downloads.

The (paid) companion Android app has 5+k downloads. It doesn’t have a high rating.

It isn’t that much work to update the IQ app. It’s a bit odd tge developer hasn’t done that.

The Android app shouldn’t need to be updated except rarely.
