Yes, it can be done. I've got working code, and I know of at least one other developer does as well. You should be able to use the code from the Moxy samples to get the ANT+ stuff working, then you just need to decode the data (which id documented in the ANT+ profile specifications).
Yes. I'm 100% certain that someone will be publishing an app for the Concept2 PM4 and PM5 devices. For the apps to actually be useful and record data to the FIT file (pace, distance, cadence, ...), the ConnectIQ SDK 2.x will need to be made public and firmware that supports it will need to be released.
That is great to hear Travis there are a lot of indoor rowers around the world who have been waiting patiently/impatiently for that news. I am also aware that for other indoor fitness equipment this will allow athletes of other disciplines to pair and recuperate more detailed info from there indoor sessions, provided they are connected with ant+ fe/fe-c eqipement. I guess now it is just a matter of time and I have some of that, thank you for the spirit uplift.
Well I still have a C2 pm4 but the last C2 pm5 firmware update included ant+ fe-c wireless features for group rowing software. They also tagged on they encourage developers to inquire about this feature.
+1 on developing a concept2 rowing app! I have never written code, but I am almost tempted on learning how just for this app. So surprised no one has leveraged the connectivity of the PM5 monitor and written an app that creates fit file. I'm sure it would make many folks very happy:-)
