App Idea: Mobile hotspot switch from garmin watch

It would be very useful to me to have shortcut to turn on hospot on mobile from garmin watch.

Very often I open my laptop to work and I need to turn on hotspot on a phone that is somewhere in the room.

It would be awesome to have switch on my wrist.

is there an API for that?

I am developer and I can look into it if somebody confirms to me it's doable....

No, there's no API for that. There is an API to communicate to an app running on the phone. But you'd also have to write/have a phone app.

There are existing IQ widgets/apps that connect to IFTT…

(Not sure why the phone is "somewhere in the room". It would seem much, much effort to get the phone before needing to open up the laptop than it would be to deal with writing a IQ app instead.)

You can use the tasker app/widget on the watch and then configure tasker on Android to change the hotspot

The both apps communicate by the 'app on the watch wants to open website ' notification.

I'm using that system to control smart switches in my house
