"Maps" application work really great on Fenix 3 https://apps.garmin.com/en-UK/apps/0a10583b-b624-4516-9501-20a7d8ce48ba
But, no record activity and no offroad map.
The idear is to develop a companion android app based on mapsforge api and offroad map stocked will be stocked on the phone. Then a widget that request according to gps position a map image to display as widget (through Comm.transmit() / or futur local makeImageRequest() functionnality ... )
It will be very usefull to have that during hiking activity because not data connection will be necessary !
