User journey:

The user opens google maps and define a route.
The user start the route guidance.
The user cast the route on its garmin device
The garmin device provide the map and the guidance to the user.

Plot directions on GMaps

Grab URL and plonk into https://mapstogpx.com and download GPX

Follow Garmin's instructions to upload GPX to the Garmin Route builder on web Garmin Connect interface

Send route to device from mobile Garmin Connect

This is best done on a desktop (any OS), but totally doable on mobile too. It also bypasses the need to be hardwired and for Garmin Basecamp.

Or alternatively you could just grab the routeCourse ConnectIQ app and use their website to do all the heavy lifting.
