Add a screen showing data received from WS

Hello guys,

I am new to developing Connect IQ apps, I've only coded in python before.

I would like to add a screen (or widget?) to my watch which shows some data that it receives from a websocket (wss://). It would only need to show the data (and connect to the ws) when you go to the specific page / screen on your watch.

Is this possible?

I have the same request. I would like use Toybox.Communications for websocket request in my watch application. So it seems not possible today. Is it possible to add new library for that ?
Can we extend the base library ? Where is the Toybox code source ?

Have you tried a makeWebRequest with https: and the port number you need? the wss:// should be saying secure and the port number.

Uhm what do you mean exactly? wss:// is the protocol for a secure websocket url. You can't just make a normal GET request to a such a url

No I mean you can't just send a GET request to a websocket server...

From the very page you linked:

the actual WebSocket connection, which only starts as a HTTP or HTTPS connection.
