Garmin has decided not to make the Varia Vision available in devices for the Edge 1040. I've asked them and confirmed they have no plans to add it as it's (old / not supported). Odd, since it does work with the new Varia camera radar, and it would certainly be simple to make it available as it's still working on the 1030 series. Alas...
I see past threads stating that ConnectIQ would not add custom fields to the Varia Vision.
In terms of using ConnectIQ to connect the Edge 1040 to the Varia Vision (at all) - would that even be possible? I'm not a Dev, but was hoping to get some details in case a community request might be put in. I don't know the ins and outs if this would even be possible with the two-way communication required (sending data to the Vision) so I suppose it could be a lost cause.
