I would like an app that can give me exercise prompts and measure my heart rate and calories burned. This is the only thing I really miss from Microsoft Band.
I saw there are a few counter apps in the store, but not the counting is the important thing for me but the prompt for the exercise.
For example: I would define on my phone, or even better on my computer a list of things to do in an exercise, like:
1. Exercise: Pull ups, Count: 3, Weight: - 1
2. Exercise: Biceps curls, Count:15, Weight: 22.5lb
etc.
Then upload the data to the watch and then when I do the work out the watch would show me 3 Pull ups, then 15 Biceps curls (22.5 lb) and so on and at the end it would show me a summary: Max heart rate, average heart rate and calories burned and the duration of the exercise.
The biggest thing about such app would be the ability to define multiple workouts and randomly (or manually) chose one every time I need to work out. I found this helped me a lot to not get bored of the work outs.
The second biggest thing would be that the work out is recorded with my other activities.
There could be some interesting statistics to show like rest time versus active time during the exercise..
I wonder if this can be done using data fields only, and then a custom app? Also I don't know yet if we can control what sensors are enable, It would be nice (probably, from the perspective of power consumption) to not activate all the sensors maybe only the movement ones and the heart rate one.
Do you guys have any suggestions on how can this be achieved? Or does anybody want to write such an ap? Maybe even more awesome, does anybody want to collaborate on creating such an app?
