Request - Simple Datafield for raw lap distance

Looking for a simple data field to aid with foot pod calibration.

despite what manufacturers claim, out of the box foot pods are not accurate for everyone and need to be calibrate. Though doing this using connect or gps can be done it’s a bit tricky.

I’m looking for a data field available for the new epix gen2 that shows and wrongs to fit the lap distance in metre (raw) and possibly the gps lap distance in the same  field

example 345m | 377m with distance (left) gps distance (right) and and then two graphs in connect so post review.

Im expecting  to calibrate on a athletics track or over a known marked distance or using a measuring wheel.

is there anything out there or could be easily built?

  • Where do you need "raw" distance to come from? The foot pod?

Maybe it would be simpler to:

    1) Set your watch to use distance from foot pod

    2) Disable auto laps

    3) Run laps on a known 400m track, pressing the Lap button every time you complete a lap

At the end of the activity, you'll have run a known multiple of 400m, with a known distance measured by your footpod, so it should be fairly simple to calibrate your footpod at that point.

  • If you want to graph the number of laps, I have an app that can do that, but that would probably be fairly useless for you.
