Is there a way to default different shoes for trail running vs road running? Currently you can only default a set of shoes for "running" but road running and trail running most times are completely different shoes

no, unfortunately this is not possible.
I hope that GARMIN makes an update for this function.

No offense, but why are you replying to my comment from over 2 years ago making a reference to something that isn't even in this thread? "As I wrote, I already did it". Where did you write that? You make it sound like I was suggesting something that was already mentioned in this thread, but I don't see any evidence of that here, unless some replies were deleted, or unless you're talking about a different thread.

You also make it sound like we're having an ongoing convo when in fact the last time I posted in this thread was January 2022.

Even though I posted the Garmin idea page link, I'll be honest and say I think it's a waste of time. There's no way of knowing if Garmin reads ideas or how many other users have submitted the same idea (which is obviously why we also post our ideas on the forums, where other users can see them, but where Garmin is unlikely to read or reply to posts.)

I wish Garmin had a real community ideas page where users could post ideas, vote on ideas, and give feedback. Kinda like these forums, except Garmin would actually read the ideas and give us feedback. The Spotify Ideas page is a great example:

BTW, I know this forum is called "App Ideas", but it's actually app ideas for third party Connect IQ apps. It has nothing to do with Connect features.

I agree. There's a lot of old feature requests that Garmin has been ignoring for years. Canadians (and others) have been asking for mixed imperial/statute and metric units in Connect for 10+ years now, but so far no luck.

That's why I think Garmin should have a community ideas page like Spotify's, where we can vote on ideas, leave feedback, and most importantly, get feedback from Garmin (so we know they're reading the ideas.) I actually left an idea about this on Garmin's actual Ideas page. Like most of the other ideas I've submitted, I'm not hopeful.

Mindboggling that they can't get this done.  The current format is pretty useless for most runners.
