FORM goggles, Garmin + Endless Pool

I'd like to swim in the endless pool/SwimSpa and track that workout in distance (meters). Is this possible? I created a Garmin activity called 'SwimSpa', turned off GPS, downloaded the FORM app to my Garmin 945. In the datafield it does show 'FORM OWS' but underneath it says 'No Support'.

If I try to set up a swim through my goggles it won't see my watch if I start an activity using the new 'SwimSpa' workout. It will see it with the Open water activity but only shows time and HR....which i don't really want.

So to summarize....I'd like to train in our endless pool with FORM goggles that are connected to through my Garmin 945 and see time and distance on the goggle view? Possible? Appreciate and help here.

  • The first line of the description for the FORM DF says

"Get ready for open water swimming with your FORM Smart Swim Goggles!"

Use "contact developer" for it in the store if you want to use it fopr something like endless pool.

  • Gooood luck getting a response from FORM I've been trying for six months. they seem to answer sales related question not technical questions. maybe there just a marketing organization.

However the most powerful tool one should be looking at is HR. along with speed it tell things like stoke efficiency and matching your training effort to your cellular respiration capacity and mitochondria energy production capacity. Two factors that can be negatively affected by overtraining or not affected by under training. An endless pool is an ideal setup to address cellular respiratory capacity and mitochondria training. Distance and speed are bonus info.
