[beginner question] run sample projects

i am just getting started with creating a watch face, and have my first project running.

however, when i want to run the sample projects, i am unable to create a configuration,

when i select one of the sample projects in the "choose a project" dropdown, i cannot select a target device.

am i missing something? how can i run these examples?

projects i created myself allow to select a device, save the configuration, and run the app, but i cannot find what causes this difference.

btw, is there an easy way to add images here?

Are you using Eclipse of VS Code? In VS Code, you may need to add tagets, using "Monkey C: Edit products"

i was able to resolve it. it had to do with which devices are installed. after installing devices from the manifest file, and a restart, iwas able to launch the apps.

as clarification: the "choose a device" dropdown is blank when selecting a sample project in "select a project"

hm, it seems like i imported it in some other way. that way it works. well then i will delete them all and import them back in. thank you!

oh well the first one worked, the 2nd one has an error with
Cannot invoke "com.garmin.connectiq.common.devices.Device.getId()" because "validDevice" is null
and no more devices listed...
