Be upfront about payment required please

Hi all

Firstly thank you to all devs for all their efforts without you iour devices may not be as good as they are..

But to all those devs that require payment to unlock features but don't have the payment label please please just add it... All I ask is that you be upfront about payment required please, and don't use the well its a donation excuse when it is required to unlock features after a certain time because as thats wrong its a payment to continue or to gain features... If it is a donation then it has NOTHING to do with the features and EVERYTHING would work forever without it.... Have tried many apps,face.widgets etc that have had a donation request but will only EVER donate to those that don't require payment for feature unlocking.. So far have donated to around 20 things, But NEVER once to something that is requiring a donation to unlock... I feel it is wrong and unethical and may be many others feel that way too... If it requires a donation to unlock features it is NOT a donation it is a PAYMENT. Donations are give freely to say thank you or support you for the fantastic work and should not be so we can gain something.....

So please Be upfront about payment required please...

There's this blog post about "payment required", but it's from the end of 2020, so new devs may not have seen it:

I have no idea as to how to report stuff that violates it though. Brandon.ConnectIQ, any ideas?

The main purpose behind the payment required flag was to avoid a user experience where a customer installs an app that immediately requires payment for use, and less about apps that function without payment but require payment to unlock additional features outside the core feature set. However, the way the policy is currently written, we've asked for the payment required flag to be enabled if payment is required for any feature.

This is option is provided on the honor system and is not actively policed. For example, we do not install each app submitted to the app store to see whether it requires payment at any point to check that the listing has the proper payment required status.

However, if you encounter an app that requires payment and does not show that payment is required, please contact [email protected] with app details and we will review the app submission and work with the app developer as needed.
