Is there a Play Music or YouTube Music app in the pipes?

Has anyone made progress developing an independent or official Google Play Music or YouTube Music app to go alongside the existing Amazon Music, Deezer and Spotify options?

Yes Garmin. I have Forerunner 245 Music and I honestly dont understand why this model, being a "Music" specific model, is not actually supported, since it supports all other major platforms.

Hello, there is app called Songlate, that supports YTMusic:

Hi. Thanks for pointing out Songlate. Will give the trial a go but I am put off having to subscribe - I already pay for Play Music. It would be cheaper to sign-up to Spotify or Deezer.

i second this. Garmin Devs PLEASE! you have all the other major streaming services why can't you add the youtube music app?

That will most likely never happen. YT Music uses an audio format that Garmin does not support. And I doubt they will change this format just to support Garmin.

Ugh. Didn't know that. But I'm a believer that both companies care about their customers and will listen to them provided we are loud and patient enough!

Unfortunately Songlate no longer supports YT Music and so I cannot renew my subscription.

More than ever Google could do with pulling their finger out and either publish their own app or stop making it difficult for third parties. I suspect it's just not in their interest to do something that supports use of a competitor to their own smart watch brand. [Sigh]

Songlate was perfect. Best integration with music for Garmin. So sad it became too difficult
