Calories In/Out Widget?

I have a Fenix 5s and the #1 reason that I actually have to open the Connect app, instead of simply checking my watch, is to see my remaining calories. I have looked for a watch face, a device app, a widget - this functionality is missing from the watch. It would only need to show the same information that the connect app shows in the 'Calories Remaining' section of the 'Calories In/Out' page. I would gladly pay for it and I imagine others would as well. Thanks.

  • Hi, I think it is you who have sent me a mail about this (12may 2020). You have not provided your mail so I was unable to reply since "contact developer" is broken!

The problem is that the total calories and the calories burned are not shared by Garmin, so  not possible to retrieve them.

Watch side, any possibility to retrieve the colories burned for an given activity. So all should be manual (the target, and calories burned after each activity).

  • Yeah I may have contacted you about it. Well, that sucks, but I appreciate the response. I have seen some total calorie counts on watch faces. I wonder if you could bring in the total calorie burn for the day and then pull the calories consumed from the myfitnesspal app/site? I don't code in any way so that may be completely impossible. What do you think?

  • Well, yes you are right, there is a way to have the calories burned for the current day but it s only the current day, and this the problem. A widget or an application can run in background and cummulate calories along days. The only solution will be to open the widget each day before you sleep to record the calories for the current day, if if you forget to open the widget you will loose calorie for the day. So using this calories counter is usefull for a watch face (and it has been designed for this) but not for what you want.

Get calories consumed from myfitnesspal? possible only if myfitnesspal allow this service, your fenix can talk to a server but the service must exist, and only myfitnesspal can let access to your data.

Finding an automatic way seems impossible, it s a pity because data are so close.

  • I was actually looking for a daily thing, to see how many calories I had left so that I could track my eating. But you're right, I have no idea if syncing with myfitnesspal would be an option. Thanks for the info all the same

  • Are you still looking for something like this or do you allready found it. There are some watchfaces but i was curious if you found something better

  • Still looking. And I've yet to find a watchface that displays calories consumed either.

  • Yes, exactly what I have been looking for also.  So far no joy.

  • I’m looking for the same thing. It would be nice to be able to see the remaining calories I can consume on the watch face or watch widget. Seeing just the calories burned seems like only half of the solution.

  • Can you describe exactly which value called 'Calories Remaining' do you mean? I can't find in my Connect App (mobile/web).

  • Actually, the Calories Remaining is not really what I'm looking for because I do not want to take into account calories burned throughout the day. The original poster wanted to see the Remaining field from the GC Mobile Calories In/Out widget. I, however, do not want to include calories burned.

As an example, in GC Mobile on the Calories In/Out widget the Goal is 1500 and the Food is -1240 so I would want the difference (calories remaining), 260, displayed on my watch face in a data field.

In GC Web, on the Calories In/Out widget the Goal is 1500 and the Consumed is 1240. Again I would want to difference displayed on my watch face in a data field.

If that's not possible then I would like to see Food (GC Mobile) or Consumed (GC Web) to display (i.e. 1240 as in the above example).

    Thanks.
