App/field for walking baby stroller

Hey everyone,

Here is a programming idea for you.

My problem is walking a baby stroller does not give nearly an accurate step count, or usually only showing 1/3 or 1/4 of the "should have been" total.

Would it be possible to create a device app and have it generate "fake step" count by using GPS location and a hard set step length, or a calculated average from last walk/hike and just do 1km == ca. 1500 steps or something similar, and add that to the current day total? (while using the app, disable the natural step count to not get double).

This should have been something Garmin offered a long time ago

Not possible. What you can do is let the arm with the watch swing free (only push with one hand)) or carry the watch in your pocket.

It's the same issue when pushing a shopping cart, walking a dog while holding the leash with your watch hand, or using poles when hiking.

yeah, i forgot, but sure a mobile phone in your trousers is able to count, so hrm chest and Garmin watch in your trousers too?

you can put your watch on your ankles to have accurate step counts when pushing a stroller
