Would love to see a widget that would activate the "shutter" on my iphone's camera app. Would also be nice if it would start & stop the video recording when in video mode. This way could use my Vivoactive to take remote pictures so I can be in them.

That would be awesome I think they have something similar for android.
There are multiple apps supporting this, I recommend searching Connect IQ Apps. One example that supports both Android and iOS that was recently updated is GameraSnap.
