Resting time display

Would love a display that shows time passing once the watch is paused, a bit like a 'chess clock' timing field.

To explain:
Some of the interval sessions my coach has us doing calls for us to run a certain distance or time and then rest (or jog on the spot) for 30 seconds or a minute. As soon as I hit pause at the end of an interval I have no idea of passing time.

My eyes aren't good enough (I don't run in my glasses) to read a clock field as part of my data screens.

Would love to have a two sceen display which shows resting time as soon as the activity is paused. As soon as it clocks a minute, or whatever, I can press start and it switches back to recording the activity.
  • Once u pause. I tot th default behavior is it shows u the save/discard screen?

Many that use these devices for training press the Lap button at the start and end of each interval. If you do it this way, and you have a Lap Time data field visible, that field will display your interval time when running an interval and your resting time when resting. If you want to be able to see the time it took for your recently completed interval and the current rest time, you use a Last Lap Time data field (which will show your interval time when resting and your rest time when running) and a Lap Time field (which shows your rest time when resting and interval time when running).

After you've finished your workout you can go back and look at each of your intervals and rest periods as each are recorded as a lap (both on the device and in Garmin Connect).

  • I think Travis ways is pretty easy. You could also create a training in Garmin Connect and load it onto the watch.
