The Intent
For race track application to record and analyze lap times, max speed, average speed and section speeds. Most current dedicated track timers uses a (2) component timer. A receiver with built in GPS to record speed and time, and a transmitter positioned at the start / finish line to trigger the lap function. Data is often overlay onto a google map view of the race track on a pc program in the pits to review more detailed results.

The Request
Create an app or widget that will accomplish the functions of a basic racetrack timer. I envision switching to the app or widget prior to getting onto the track, walk over to the start / finish point and mark this "waypoint". Return to my motorcycle and strap my Fenix 3 to the handle bars and push start at the start line to start the timer. When the bike passes the predetermined waypoint, it will record the data from the previous waypoint to this one and save it for future review. A user could walk around the track and set multiple waypoints around the race track to have the unit break down data within sections of a race track. The Fenix 3 can use its GPS to log speed and time, elevation and temperature.

Waiting also these functions to my 920xt. On meanwhile I can use my old fr305 to get laptimes while driving motocross and snowcross. Little bit sad that these new gadgets cannot do The same
