Last weekend I wanted a change of pace so I spent some time searching for watch faces on the store. I found a lot of watch faces I liked but nothing really fit what I was after. Many look nice but are missing features I feel are important. As a result, I started creating my own watch face. I was able to quickly write an analog watch based on the sample and then I created a text watch. Later I decided to combine the two into the face I attached below.
My analog watch has a few features I haven't seen on other watches, and I'm hoping other developers will expand on it. Go ahead, I don't mind :)
The minute hand is my step bar. It starts out orange and fills in with green as you get closer to your goal. When you get close to 100% it will be all green. The step counter at the bottom also changes to green at 100%.
The hour hand is my Move indicator. It starts out all green but then starts to fill in with orange as you become inactive. The round "bezel" around the analog watch also changes from green to red as a more obvious indicator.
Unfortunately due to the small size, the minute hand is only about 50 pixels long, rounding error quickly comes into play. The step bar looks completely filled in before it really is. I haven't decided if it is important enough to me to account for that error so it stops filling in at some point.
I'm not quite ready to release my watch face, I have a couple of tweaks I want to get in, but I expect to release it into the store soon. If you like it and want it now (I'm targeting vivoactive, fr920xt and epix, but only own a vivoactive) let me know and I can either send you a file or hurry up and release it. I'm open for any suggestions you might have.
