Hello Garmin forum folks,
I have a GPSmap 65s and I'm trying to get it to send alerts for intermediate waypoints while using a route with walking or hiking routing setting activity profiles. I've set up a test route with one intermediate point and a destination point. When I use the the automobile driving activity setting in routing settings, the GPS alerts me as I approach the first waypoint (I'm not talking about turn-ny-turn navigation here, just waypoints along a route). However, when I switch to walking or hiking activity settings in routing settings, regardless of the profile I'm in, including a custom one those based on the standard automotive profile, I do not receive alerts for the intermediate point. Is this a limitation of the walking profiles, or is there a way to change this setting? I like to hike between different waypoints and would rather not have to check the screen every 5 minutes. It should just let me know when we get to an intermediate waypoint.
