66S fit and gpx files bug. Exaggerated total distance ?

Hi, using my GPSMAP 66S (firmware : 9.90, software : 2.80.) to record the activity for hiking I do often. I have odd results from the 66S. it looked the distance recorded in fit or gpx files unreasonable. anyone can help? or just Garmin can fix this problem?

What exactly do you mean with "unreasonable"? Is the recorded distance way too long?

I guess it has something to do with the settings. You can activate "Auto-Pause" for example.
Go to "Setup -> Recording" and switch "Auto Pause" on. Set "Record Method" to "Auto" and "Interval" to "More Often".

Maybe this helps already.

It has nothing to do with settings, but gpx or fit files. The distance recorded will be reasonable, as delete the last line of the gpx or fit files.

Do you save your track after the activity? If you just switch off your gpsmap and switch it back on at home, the recording will continue at your home-position and adds the distance in between.

I you open the track in Garmin Basecamp, you can check the position/coordinates of the last line.

I always saved track after the activity. The position/coordinates and time of the last line were displayed at the place of the activity finished in Garmin Basecamp.
