Posting scores and stats to GHIN

  1. I have been following a request on the garmin golf watch S62 forum for quite a few months and that request has gotten zero traction so I thought I should post it here instead.
  2. All Garmin golf users should have the ability to have the golf scores automatically uploaded to GHIN handicap system.
  3. Having to score your game in the watch and then turn around and do it all again on the GHIN app is ridiculous.  Most of my golfing buddies use Garmin and all would love this additional feature.
  4. Please add that connection for scores and all the associated stats.  If Garmin is serious about being a golf watch supplier this simple feature is a must have for serious golfers.  Its also a feature that should have been available from the beginning!
  • Totally agree. Even homemade apps I am aware of built this in. Can’t be that difficult

  • Totally agree.  I’m aware of home grown golf apps that built this in.  Can’t be that difficult.

  • I got a Pixel Watch 3, installed The Grint, and haven't looked back. Its battery life doesn't last as long as the Garmin I had (Venu 2), but that's the only drawback that I've run into. Has better integration with the phone, too.

To be fair to Garmin, this wasn't the deciding factor on making the purchase (the reason was that I cracked my Venu 2 screen), but it WAS the deciding factor on NOT choosing a Garmin product.

  • I used to have a Garmin, but I switched to an Apple Watch with The Grint. Honestly, it doesn’t feel as accurate, and sometimes it just stops working, especially when another app (like live sports tracking) takes over. I was browsing Amazon, ready to switch back to Garmin, but first I Googled whether the long-standing GHIN posting issue had finally been fixed. Turns out it hasn’t, and it seems to have been neglected. This really should be considered a core feature. It’s a dealbreaker for me. Why hasn’t it been addressed?

  • Seeing the latest news today regarding the law suit between Strava and Garmin, provides a bit more context to the API sharing and what Garmin requires to use thier API data source.

So looks like time to switch brands or methods for recording golf scores as this is never going to happen!
