Edit Multisport activities

Hi,

I tried the search function but could not find anything to resolve my problem..

I have done a triathlon on the weekend and uploaded it to Garmin Connect. I really like that it now shows u as a single event and not as 5 individual activities as before (swim, bike, run and 2 transitions).

My problem is however that I cannot edit the workout. Like so many times I forgot to press lap after the triathlon and now my total time is way too long. I tried to use the edit function and just change the time (how I can do it with normal activities) but my changes are not being saved.

I am not sure if that's a bug, was done by intention or I simply make a mistake but does anyone have a solution on this?

Any help is really welcome!

Thanks

    Hello Fabian,

I added 100 meter laps to your Swim and 1 km laps to your Bike and Run.

I kept the total calories recorded by your device but split them up into each section by sport.
Swimming gets more calories per km than Running which gets more than Biking.

Currently there is a problem loading directly into Modern. I have sent a message to Mathias about it.
You have to load this Multisport into Classic first then double click the untitled name and it automatically opens into Modern. I have no idea why but Mathias will look into it.

So....here ya go. Multisport file built with the Fit File Repair Tool.
  • Thanks a ton Don,

Did all your steps and loaded well the file. Let me know why one should go via Classic, I am courious about it.

Do you know if I can modify one of the fields vis Garmin Connect (for example the actual swimming distance was 750m).

    Thanks,
    Fabian.

    Hello Fabian,

When I was in Modern I could not Import the Multisport file. I got an error message.
I switched to Classic and I could Import the Multisport file??? Beats me.
Did you Import the file directly from Modern?

No....you cannot edit any track or session data in Garmin Connect Classic or Modern.

Can you send me the start and stop times for the 750 meter Swim?
If you can then I can modify the Swim session.

    Hi Don,

The swim leg started at time zero (was the first leg) and ended at 00:15:19. The FR 620 is not set to be a swim watch and therefore the distance measurement seems to be very innacurate. The actual distance I covered in the swim leg was 750m.

    Thanks,
    Fabian.

    Hello Fabian,

I removed a bunch of trackpoints from your Swim that were zig-zaging all over the place and got the distance down to 750 meters.
I had to change the total time a few seconds and the cadence numbers are probably screwed up.

This time this Multisport loaded directly into Modern so the last file had some minor thing wrong that I did.

So....here ya go. The power of this Fit File Repair Tool is amazing.
  • Thanks Don! I agree that the tool seems to be very powerful.

Has Garmin said anything about fixing this? It seems like a big bug. In the meantime I have a swim that didn't track my laps correctly at the end of a multisport workout. How can I update it? It's only 13 laps off, but the OCD triathlete in me is really bugged that it's not accurate.

    Hello Jessica,

Until Garmin does indeed provide some way to edit or correct their files you/we are forced to fix them ourselves.

Lucky for us there are several programs available.

If you attach a copy of your file with some comments about what you want fixed someone here will try to repair your file.

Great. Here's the file. Hopefully I attached it correctly and it's the right type of file. I just want the swim yards changed from 825 yards (33 lengths) to 1150 yards (46 lengths). Thanks!

This is ridiculous. I can't view my multisports in classic anymore and I cannot change the activity and lost editing functionality.
    I HATE modern.
