Edit Multisport activities

Former Member
Former Member
Hi,

I tried the search function but could not find anything to resolve my problem..

I have done a triathlon on the weekend and uploaded it to Garmin Connect. I really like that it now shows u as a single event and not as 5 individual activities as before (swim, bike, run and 2 transitions).

My problem is however that I cannot edit the workout. Like so many times I forgot to press lap after the triathlon and now my total time is way too long. I tried to use the edit function and just change the time (how I can do it with normal activities) but my changes are not being saved.

I am not sure if that's a bug, was done by intention or I simply make a mistake but does anyone have a solution on this?

Any help is really welcome!

Thanks

    Hello Jessica,

I did manage to finally get 1150 yards into the Swim file but not the way I wanted it.
There is some kind of time corruption that I could not correct.
The seconds recorded by the 310 for some of the laps do not agree with the actual timestamps????
When I tried to edit the laps the software would freeze up every time I edited 5-6 laps.
Finally I just changed every lap including Rest laps into Normal 25 yard laps.
That screwed up the timing for individual laps but the overall average for the 32 minute swim is not too far off.

So....here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

  • This is ridiculous. I can't view my multisports in classic anymore and I cannot change the activity and lost editing functionality.
    I HATE modern.

You could never view a multisport event in classic. It was always divided into separate activities for each leg. That said, previously you had the ability to view/edit each leg in classic.

There are two things to note here. First, the multisport view in modern connect is new. People begged to see multisport activities as a single event, and they got that. It looks like some functionality was lost in the transition, but I'd be willing to bet that it will be added back given sufficient time. Second, Garmin has always said that classic is going to go away, so you need to prepare for some adjustment, either by moving to another service or getting used to the way things are being done on the modern Garmin Connect.
  • I have a similar problem that I have not gotten a responds to - even though I called customer support. When I go swimming and than go into the steamroom (on the same day) it makes it a multisport event. I do not want this, because I want to compare my swim events. Please help me I am desperate to get this fixed and quick. I guess I will try it with other events like my run and than bike.
  • Simple. When you finish your swim, press stop. Then press and hold lap/reset to save the activity to your device. Then change activity.

Read the manual and understand how to use the device and how it works. It's not a problem with Garmin Connect. It's a problem with how you are using the device.
  • multi sport question

i did a race yesterday, out of T1 i hit the lap button to many times and had to go to another Multi sport to get my bike split and in T2 i just did a reset and started a new run. how can i delete the T1, bike, T2, run from the first multi sport but keep the second bike split within that same workout?

    Hello Zepols,

There is only 1 software that I know of that can edit MultiSport FIT files.

    http://fitfilerepairtool.info/download/

If you attach your file I will try to repair it for you so you can see how it works.

    Please repair fit file

Can someone edit my .fit file for me please.

It's a simple change, I just forgot to lap my 310xt coming off the bike and ended up including my transition time in my bike split. If you can subtract one minute from the bike time and add one minute to the T2 time would be great.

Not sure if you can edit distance as well but you can do same and subtract 0.12 from the bike and add to T2.

    Mike,
(also see Thread "Garmin Connect Modern Problems...")
For another workout I was doing, I tried to switch mid-way through the workout to Running from Biking (i had forgotten to move my 310xt into running mode before starting my run. When I downloaded the data into Connect, it put both of these two workouts into a Multisport workout. I was going to go in and just delete the biking portion of the workout and then edit the time and distance of the run. But, I can''t find a way to delete the bike portion and it doesn't save the changes I've made to the run portion....

Anitan1 - I did exactly this today on an activity and need to change the bike section to running, having realised halfway through the activity that i was on BIKE as i was running. I wish I hadn't touched it, as it seems easy to change a normal activity. But as soon as it's multisport, it just crashes the page when you try to edit the segment. did you find a solution? Thanks.

    Hello Jamie,

You can attach a copy of your FIT file here and someone will change the segment.

Please be clear as to which segment you want changed to running. :o
  • help changing transitions to activities?
