Edit Multisport activities

Hi,

I tried the search function but could not find anything to resolve my problem..

I have done a triathlon on the weekend and uploaded it to Garmin Connect. I really like that it now shows u as a single event and not as 5 individual activities as before (swim, bike, run and 2 transitions).

My problem is however that I cannot edit the workout. Like so many times I forgot to press lap after the triathlon and now my total time is way too long. I tried to use the edit function and just change the time (how I can do it with normal activities) but my changes are not being saved.

I am not sure if that's a bug, was done by intention or I simply make a mistake but does anyone have a solution on this?

Any help is really welcome!

Thanks

Can you help me out with my activity? I have two issues:

    1. The swim is only registering as around 1000 yards but it was actually around 1500 meters. I floated on my back for a few mins which may be the cause.

    2. I pressed lap too late after exiting my swim and way too late after leaving T1 for the bike leg. Can you fix?

    Race Results:
    Swim 19:58
    T1 6:46
    Bike 1:19:10
    T2 2:33
    Run 50:14

    Thanks.
    H.J.

    Hello HJ,

Here ya go. Corrected your times and distances with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Hi,

I accidentally started my 1/2 marathon run this past weekend in biking mode, and within 5 minutes into the run changed it back into running mode. As a result I now have a multisport .fit file. Could someone help to change it to just purely a running mode .fit file? Thanks for your help in advance.

    Thanks,
    Michal

    Hello Michal,

For some unknown reason the HR data stops abruptly at 6 miles?? I made a single running activity with the Fit File Repair Tool.
  • Adventure Race Splits

    Hello,

At the weekend I did an adventure race, kind of an endurance multisport event (over 12 hours). Though I have tried to lock my Fenix to avoid pressing "Lap" accidentally, it didn't quite work out. Now I have an activity record that doesn't make much sense - splits at wrong times, wrong sport types, multiple splits within just few seconds as an attempt to get the right stats on the watch... My own attempts to correct it manually (through CSV way) didn't work, and the trial version of the Fit File Repair Tool doesn't even want to import the FIT-file.

It would be awesome if someone can help me fixing it. Ideally showing me how to do it so that next time I can fix it myself or maybe help someone else. But any support is very much appreciated.

Here is the original FIT file: .
and the splits: (start time - sport)
    0:00:00 MTB
    0:25:00 T1
    0:29:00 Inline skating
    0:43:00 T2
    0:47:00 Canoeing
    2:11:52 T3 (start/stop correct)
    2:13:10 Run
    2:23:20 T4
    2:25:28 Trail Run (start/stop correct)
    3:34:35 T5 (start/stop correct)
    3:38:30 MTB (start/stop correct)
    4:23:16 T6 (start/stop correct)
4:25:57 Trail Run (start correct, stop about one minute late)
5:51:40 T7 (start one minute too late, lasts too long - forgot to press "lap")
    5:57:40 MTB
    10:03:30 T8
    10:13:17 Trail Run (start/stop correct)
    11:18:18 T9 (start/stop correct)
    11:27:19-12:26:38 MTB (start/stop correct)

It's a pity Garmin doesn't provide a tool to do such edit. I hope you can help, or at least give some tips.

    Thanks in advance,
    Anton

Thanks Don. The merged fit file is perfect. I think my HR strap monitor probably battery probably died at the 6 miles mark. It would explain why my FR310XT haven't pickup my HR since 8/1. Thanks again for your help. Have a great day!

Just one more question. To Don, I suppose: I have seen, you can do some magic to fix the elevations. Could you do that between 1:40:00 and 1:44:30? Swimming in the "transition" mode must have confused the altimeter.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hello Anton,

I made 2 files using the Fit File Repair Tool. A MultiSport and a regular with splits.

  • Don't understand how to edit Fit files

I am trying to edit my Triathlon from this morning. It was a 1 mile run/ 12 mile bike / 5k run. I have seen others on here who have fixed this for people. Can someone help me please? Garmin's editing capabilities are awful. This seems like it should be a very easy thing to do.

    Hello dhunterfl,

You made a standard file with laps, not a MultiSport file. I used the Fit File Repair Tool to manufacture a MultiSport from your data.
