Merging Activities

I would like to have the possibility to merge 2 activities.
  • +1, Count me in on this. It looks like there's many frustrated Garmin users about this feature (or rather lack thereof ) out there.

    Using MapSource [Solved]

I just discovered that you can download your tracks (Activities) from your GPS using MapSource, then selecting the tracks you want to join you can right click and choose "Join the selected tracks". Next you can "Save as.." and save as a "*.gpx" file, which can be uploaded to this website. Works perfectly and is much easier than the java app (thanks for that BTW) at stitching many tracks together.

    No merge activities?!?

I just got my new Foretrex to replace my old Geko and was getting really excited about this Garmin Connect thing. Then I did some quick tests and realized I can't merge activities! I would use this mostly for hiking and mountaineering where I often lose the signal under a rock overhang, in thick forest (hopefully less so with my new unit) and in deep canyons. It will be pretty much useless without being able to merge activities easily (or at least select activities to merge when uploading or something). This seems like a simple feature so I'm adding my request to this growing list!

Here's a suggestion for a new feature. Add a "Merge Activieies" button to the "Analyze Activities" page on connect.garmin.com. As a Forerunner 305 and Garmin Fit user, I record my workouts on both my Forerunner and my iPod. I want the heart rate information from my Forerunner, and I want the lap information from my Garmin Fit app. When I upload my Forerunner data, I have a duplicate activity. I want to check the duplicate activities, click the merge button, and select which data to keep in the merged record. When I click confirm, I see only one activity on the Analyze Activities page.
  • Hello!
I do have the same problem: I record my activities in two devices at the same time (Forerunner 405 and Garmin Fit iPhone App).

Is there a way to merge this two activities in Garmin Connect?
Is there any solution to this problem?

    Thank you very much!

  • Could someone explain why you'd record lap information on one device and heart rate data on another? Is there additional information that is recorded by the app that isn't available on the watch?

  • The Fit File Repair Tool (http://fitfilerepairtool.info) has a file merge feature. It allows you to combine data of two (or more) files into one file and upload this file to your Garmin Connect account or export it as fit or tcx file. The tool requires a PC.

The problem will be to import the recording of the iphone app. The only way I can think of is to transfer it to Garmin Connect, export it from there and then import it into the Fit File Repair Tool and delete it in Garmin Connect before you upload the new file after merging the two files.
Probably too many steps but I don't know any easier way.

    Best regards
    Mathias
