Problem with calories

Yesterday on my bike ride (with a power meter + HR), my 840 finds 4914 calories, but on the calorie page (and also after synchronization on my Epix / Physio true up) the number does not match at all.

Before the 9.26 update, I didn't have this problem :

  • Another failure today. Two screenshots, one as the Edge syncs and another shortly after, presumably as the Fenix syncs. Check times top left - active calorie correct from Edge but then suddenly lower. Surely the fix here is that if a device is recording an activity it overrides whatever is being logged by the non recording device?

Second question, the Fenix is set as my primary training device - what is the impact of changing this to the Edge?

Come on Garmin, please respond and help us resolve this issue

  • I have tried changing the Primary device to EDGE, but same problem...

  • Me too. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't ...

  • Actually same thing again here, calories out of sync. Worked for couple of days but now total daily calories seems to be wrong in garmin connect after watch + edge 840 + HRM pro are all synced after a ride...

  • The problem also exists in the other way : After a running session with my epix and a bluetooth sync, I wanted to add a new bike route on my 840, and my active calories were deleted.

A stupid software issue with device priority during sync ...

  • The lack of communication from Garmin is really disappointing. These are premium devices, those with this issue have invested in at least two of them! A status update is the least that is needed

  • Totally agree… this is really disappointing Garmin. I have always said that nobody beats Garmin with service/customer support after 16 years with your products, but this case is just S……. Can’t believe it should take several months to get this to get solved!!!!

  • All, this issue has been escalated. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work towards a fix.

  • Thanks for responding Amy, good to hear it’s escalated. Progress updates make a big difference, hope to hear of a resolution  soon

  • Thank you for your understanding and sharing your feedback. .
