Yep, my Gmail is marking live track emails from friends as "looks unsafe" and removing the link. Nothing I can do to convince Gmail the email is safe.

Is your partner using Gmail? Gmail marks the mail as suspicious and removes the link. Clicking "Looks safe" should reenable the link. That doesn't seem to work that good which is an issue with Gmail.
I started LiveTrack several times after each other and clicked Looks Safe every time and now Gmail do not mark the mails as suspicious.
Another trick is to click Looks Safe. Send the mail to Spam and then mark the mail as Not Spam.
For me it also worked to click Looks Safe and then delete the mail. Then I moved back the mail from Bin.
Hmm.. So they worked out a deal with Gmail?
The email content that Garmin puts in these messages might not be tripping the Gmail unsafe email detectors, but it still really bad content. IMO Garmin should still update the fine print at the bottom of the email with the full livetrack URL, and add some details about unsubscribing. Gmail was right to flag it as suspicious.
