Workouts wont sync to watch

I have a garmin 410 and when trying to upload a workout to the device the device says transfer complete but no data passes across and the advanced workouts are empty. Sporadic sync issues as well but generally my activities transfer from watch to garmin connect ok, its just seems to be the other way is the issue.

tried all the usual fixes...

As I wrote, you need to delete some older workouts. There is only a limited number of workouts that can be kept on the watch. Can't you access the device storage over the ANT+ stick? Or deleting the workouts…

Would have to do it from the device. Or factory reset.

Nothing specific about workouts but I'm sure there is a limit - Memory limitations on Forerunner 405/405CX/410 devices

There are no workout currently on the watch and previously when I upload it overwrites the one that was already there, watch can only take one at a time, j know this. Was never an issue before, was fine around Christmas time but hadn't done programmed workout in a few months, has to be watch software issue at this stage j think, it's the only thing I haven't changed. I really don't want to factory reset the watch. I have the over all totals on it I'd like to keep.

An additional FYI courses wont upload either, wife has a second watch, i'm going to set up an account for her and see if its the watch or interface..thanks for the input folks

Also the watch is showing 1 message with the workout waiting to sync on net run, so garmin connect says it hasn't been done but watch and express thinks it has...!

Folks, just a final word on this, chatted with support and his only suggestion was to hard reset the watch, am fairly sure it wont work...thanks for the input...SIGH

There are differing translations on what a hard reset is. Which one?

Force power off the watch then turn on
Factory reset to day-one condition

Second one, I already tried the "Soft" reset specifically this one

Press and Hold down BOTH the Start/Stop and Lap/Reset Buttons (these are the two silver buttons on the right hand side).
2. Keep these two buttons pressed in for 6 seconds and the screen will go blank.
3. Release the Start/Stop button (the top one) and continue to hold the Lap/Reset button for 3 additional seconds, then Release it.
4. Select “YES” (Enter Button) to the prompt asking to clear user data.

This might be an issue with the latest version of Garmin Express. I'm seeing other threads from users of the 410 - Garmin Express sync with Forerunner 410

Thanks, I rolled back to an older version, no dice but there may be some residuals in the system. I was on to Garmin support and it ultimately gravitated to them trying to sell me a new watch!!
