Workouts wont sync to watch

I have a garmin 410 and when trying to upload a workout to the device the device says transfer complete but no data passes across and the advanced workouts are empty. Sporadic sync issues as well but generally my activities transfer from watch to garmin connect ok, its just seems to be the other way is the issue.

tried all the usual fixes...

Very annoying

  • ... also, in some past cases (not with FR410 though), I saw that a stuck sending of a new workout could be fixed by simple rescheduling of the workout, or by a minor edit in it, and then sending and syncing again.

  • I already tried this but it didn't work for me.

  • I tried to download the software tools for ANT+ but an account is required. I registered. I am waiting for the validation...

  • My Ant+ account was eventually validated. However, its level is not sufficient to download the appropriate software tools :-(.

  • as benoit said only onw workout per watch and i assume its same issue as mine, all these workouts worked fine previously and only stopped working as far as I can see when I upgraded to newest GE version.

I've tried all the suggestions and I agree "it sucks" why should I buy a new watch when the one i had was working perfect previously. The fact that 4 watches all have stopped accepting workouts at more or less the same time is not a watch issue.

Didn't one of you tell that you already tried unistalling the recent version of GE and installing the old one, and that it did not help? If so, then the version is apparently not the reason. And if you did not try, then that's what you should do.

  • Victory ! At least !

I indeed had already tried uninstalling the recent version of GE but may have not replaced it by the appropriate old one !

This morning, I gave it another try. I completely uninstalled Garmin Express using Revo Uninstaller (https://www.revouninstaller.com/products/revo-uninstaller-free/). It allows clearing all register keys and Garmin related files.

Then, I downloaded and installed Garmin Expres 7-0-1. I don't know if a more recent version works but this one does at least !

In the installation options, I specified a path without space ("D:\" on my computer instead of the "C:\Program files\" default path). However, I don't know if this point is mandatory.

When launching, GE checks for updates. In the settings, I managed to prevent him from downloading updates. It can be painful as GE is very fast to check for updates. If the dialog box appears, you will have to shut GE down using the task manager and try again.

I did not described the usual pairing process between the watch and the computer.

The problem must lie in a recent version of GE but I don't know precisely which one.

The above solution works for me. I hope it will help others.

Much simpler way is cutting your WiFi and/or unplugging the Ethernet cable before starting GE for the first time after the reinstall, and then disabling the auto-updates in Settings » Schedule.

  • benoit, that's very good news, I tried the uninstall using cc cleaner but I will try yours, my system does not update too regularly, but I think I have the option to "do it later".

I'm running Win 10 and I don't get to choose the install path, I assume you have a partitioned disk, hence the D Drive?

Can you post the path that you used to download the GE version you mentioned?

    Thanks

    Liam

  • P.S. Can I ask what firmware version is on your watch(s)
