ZWIFT Rides No Longer Count Towards Challenges?

I was half way to completing the 2021 "January Ride to 200" challenge with ZWIFT rides and now my progress says zero.
My ZWIFT rides have always counted in the past challenges... is this something new??

  • This!!!!!
I have scoured the internet looking for a fix that was easier than my current!!

thank you very much. For those who think this is a bind - it takes 2 minutes.

  • for the good will and the mental health of your users
.... @garmin please let zwift activities count towards badges.......

  • It is easier and looks a lot better in Connect to export the FIT file, add a Garmin device, delete the original activity, import the edited activity.

No duplicates and all stats will be correct.

  • I was recording with my watch and was recording my data, although inaccurate, but got a new trainer don't use the watch any longer, no data.  Web search brought me here.  Garmin must be jealous of zwift and afraid of the competition.  Wait until Zwift comes out with their trainer and probably a bike computer so your outdoor riding can be recorded on Zwift.  Sad! Leaders in the the industry shouldn't be afraid of competition, they should be driving it.

  • I have wondered about this and finally stumbled across this thread. This is really not cool Garmin. For sure going to think twice about new Garmin products. I wrote support about it. Surely people should be doing that continuously to raise the issue.

  • More than 2 years later, I just found out :-/ As a user of a full Garmin environment for months. I tried Zwift and now Kinomap for a few days and was very surprised to see no progress in these 2023 bike challenges.

It's clearly not a customer choice, when you can easily move all your data to Strava and get challenges there without snubbing.

  • Although it cost $10 a year I use RunCap on the iPhone to sync all of my workouts.  When I am done on Zwift or any other platform.  I simply open the App and sync and share and the work goes into Garmin.  There are few configurations you have to setup with in Run Gap but for $10/year totally work it.

With that being said this is huge gap in Garmin.  Lets spend resource getting EKG on one watch, instead of fixing an issue thousands have complained about.  It is pretty simple fix.  There system will not count workout toward challenges that was done using their equipment.  So when an outside software send s workout over, most likely in a FIT file and a Garmin device is present add one to the file.  Essentially this is what Run Gap is doing in the background.

Prior to RunGap I wrote my Linux library that did this, but stopped hosting a cloud linux server that software was no longr available.  RunGap is the next best thing and costs me much less per year than my linux server.

  • Looks like issue is still here. Anyone is fixing it?

  • It isn't an issue. It is per design. Activities must be logged with a Garmin device.
