ZWIFT Rides No Longer Count Towards Challenges?

I was half way to completing the 2021 "January Ride to 200" challenge with ZWIFT rides and now my progress says zero.
My ZWIFT rides have always counted in the past challenges... is this something new??

  • Next it will be...."You did not do your run wearing Garmin shoes so it does not count" and "You didn't do your ride on a Garmin bike so your ride does not count".  You can see where this is going.

  • Or...You didn't use Garmin Vector pedal power meters.  Ergo: You power readings are thrown out.  $%^$%^#$%^

  • That's just plain STUPID! Why then, is Garmin Connect allowing the reporting of Zwift rides? Zwift rides ARE indoor rides. Hey Garmin? Get it together.

  • Agreed 100%. I am so sick of Garmin breaking features with crappy software updates. With Wahoo entering the fitness watch market and FitBits getting better and better its looking more and more like the time to consign Garmin to the rubbish bin they pull their coding skills and Quality Control standards from.

  • They should count. They are activities in the correct category. The argument that they shouldn't count is a BS attempt by Garmin to force people to use ONLY their products. These activities WERE counting and you intentionally shut them off. This shouldn't be a feature request. What it should be is a wake up call to your customers that you don't give a crap about user experience and we should be looking to Wahoo, FitBit, and Whoop for our future devices...

  • I was happily collecting badges for my workouts but I really can't be bothered to try all these work rounds. Pretty poor really as the whole time I've been on garmin it has worked.

I think until Garmin can learn to play nice with others I will not be buying anymore of their very expensive products. These days there are plenty of other companies and products out there. Might even find a watch that tracks heart rate for the entire workout rather than bits and pieces of it!

  • Same here.

I use Strava more these days, so even I had my Garmin connect account since 2008, I am not worried to change to another brand of watch, as long as it syncs to Strava.

  • I use Strava more these days

If you prefer Strava, why bothering about Garmin badges then? How do they matter in Strava?

  • As  I wrote, I had Garmin connect since 2008. I is  a development. I also collected badges since that started on Garmin a few years ago. Has nothing to do with Strava.

  • Seriously. I’m riding a $3K Garmin/Tacx NeoBike and the aren’t gonna count my miles because I use Zwift instead of my Fenix? What the actual ***? It’s not like the NeoBike has the capacity to upload by itself. So now I have to have multiple inputs if I want to be able to view my rides on Connect. This is further segmenting the field and drifting folks to Strava and Zwift, not the other way around.
