Timestamp out of chronological order.
Repaired using Fit File Repair Tool.
Unzip the file then import into Garmin Connect using the [import data page]
The Forerunner 25 seems…
The 245 is not normally an issue, but I would start with removing all files in the \GARMIN\ACTIVTY folder regardless of what it says is available, especially if you have chronic corrupt file issues.
A rather large time gap
Looks like maybe the stop and save wasn't done as soon as the ride was completed? I removed all timestamps from that point on. This will work - 2021-06-27-07-02-2-fixed.fit
Hi!,
I finished my ride in the rain yesterday, and when it was time to save the activity, I accidentally "discarded" it (because of the rain on the surface of my Edge computer)...
Fortunately, I have been able to recover the FIT file thanks to a Recovery software. However, it appears to be corrupted as I can't upload it to Garmin, Trainingpeaks, or Strava.
More research lead me here and I tried to use the Fit File Repair Tool, but the tool only shows the first 2 minutes of my ride... despite the ride being 3-hour long and the FIT file weighing ~500 KB. I get this message:
"525386 bytes of the file are corrupted and could not be repaired.
The recording ended abruptly and without the expected summary records. Probably data records at the end of the recording are missing.
4 warnings have been generated during the import process. Please choose the option "display warnings" for further details."
I tried to check the box "don't sort out corrupted records", but I still do not see them in the table. Maybe I'm using the tool wrong.
Any help would be appreciated..

Thank you for trying! Next time I ride in the rain, I'll be more careful when the time comes to save the activity :)
Yes, it worked. Thank you!
Hello, I'm having the same issue with the Unexpected end of file error. I tried to install the Fit file repair tool, but Windows Defender is blocking it, which is really weird.
If anyone could please help me with this, I would appreciate it.

I tried to install the Fit file repair tool, but Windows Defender is blocking it, which is really weird.
That's because this is basically a Microsoft Access application. Windows will always block it as a potential risk. I was able to "download anyways" the installation zip file to get it installed on a Windows 10 PC. I've been using it for over a year without any issues.
I'm looking at your file now.

Some suggestions to help minimize the occurrence of corrupt fit files:
Thanks so much! I can't believe how fast you helped me.
One other thing. I had done what you said with bypassing Windows Defender before I posted originally. The warning I got that I couldn't get past was when I tried to download the update file. It identified a specific Trojan virus and auto-quarantined the entire zip file. I couldn't get past it. Windows Defender called it: TrojanDownloader:O97M/Dorno.A!ams I can find no reference on Google to this problem, but lots of references to this file as a severe threat that cannot be bypassed. It is in the new update zip file as of mid-July, 2021. I sent a contact to the owner of the site. Just wanted to note this in case anyone else is having this problem.
I sent a contact to the owner of the site.
Yep. I did the same a year ago and got this response.
This is a false warning and caused by the fact that my tool is a MS
Access application. I wish I could do anything to prevent this warning.
Sorry!
I've been posting this here for the past year for anyone that wants to download it and install it.
You can get around it and download the zip file by temporarily turning off Real-time protection. Go to "Virus & threat protection settings," then toggle off "Real-time protection." Do this at your own risk of course and don't forget to turn it back on after downloading the zip file.
Once downloaded, go to MS Access > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations > Add the path to FitFileRepairTool
