Sync problems: Training calendar runs don't show up, workouts don't sync at all

For the past few weeks I've been unable to get my training plan from Garmin Connect to show up correctly on my Forerunner 235. When I navigate on the watch to "Training Calendar", it says to download your training calendar from Garmin Connect. I've tried this a gazillion times. I've wiped the entire watch back to factory settings multiple times, I've canceled and deleted my training plans and restarted with a different plan... without fail, none of the workouts show up in the training calendar on the watch. They are, however, hiding in the workouts section.

I've also discovered that new workouts that I make online with Garmin Connect aren't being synced. I've specifically gone into the app, selected the individual workout, sent it to the device, and Garmin Connect says it worked, the watch shows a transfer successfully finishes... no new workouts.

Anyone else having similar issues? And any idea how to fix it? I'm getting frustrated, the calendar view on the watch is key to keeping me on track.

Having the same issue. It’s September 2019 and I still can’t sync my workouts from Garmin Connect to my Forerunner 235. What is the solution?

  • I just ran into this issue a week ago. I have a FR 920xt. Both the android connect app and my Garmin Express app would say the phone sync successfully. Connectivity was good and I would see the flashing double-arrows on the watch indicating that it was syncing. But just like the OP said, my workouts weren't actually syncing to my watch. What worked for me was to delete some old workouts on my watch. Once I did that, then when I sync'ed again, it worked. So I suspect that my device was low on storage space and just doing a terrible job of error reporting. Just a hypothesis though.

  • I'm having the same issue with my new vivoactive 3 which does not connect to a computer. The first two workouts would sync to my watch and the watch would buzz when it was time to run. Now I can start the walk run on my watch but it doesn't Buzz or track the correct intervals.

This is driving me nuts.  I have a Fenix 3 and an Edge 1000.  Calendar syncs 100% with fenix, but only a handful shows up in the edge.  Have removed the fenix from account and started fresh with only the edge, and still the same.  The workouts that do sync seem to all be random.  If I wipe the device and ad the workout from scratch, it will be other workouts that sync.  Never the same ones.

I'm having the same issue. Training peaks is showing up under "My Workouts" but not the "Training Calendar" section. It did at first and now I don't know what's going on. Need corrected soon so I can take advantage of the training program I purchased that doesn't work now.

The issue is still here. Garmin suck so much. Literally unusable, quit after experiencing it twice. Runners, you are just better off with these terrible programs.
