Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

    Yep... And actually the badge is for ascent not elevation...

  • I guess, if one floor is 10 ft. for 334ft we simply need to go 34 floors up. Works for me.

  • Yep... And actually the badge is for ascent not elevation...

    As I wrote, on the badge is written Ascent, but in fact it is the Elevation Gain that is the decisive criterion. Contact the Support if you feel it is wrong.

  • I’m not getting the milestone badge although I have run much more than that.

    Try running a mile, but not more than 5km in a running activity. If it does not work, share the activity and post the link here

    Dear Garmin team,

    Thank you for addressing this. I've an issue with a diving activity and badges not being awarded.

    Naturally you have my consent to look into it through you adminstrative tools.

    I feel this should trigger 'New Kid on the Dock' and 'Arctic Plunge' and 'Passionate Diver' as this is dive no. 270.

    Could you look into this?

  • I've an issue with a diving activity and badges not being awarded.

    The activity you have shown, looks like a manually entered activity. Badges are not being awarded for manually entered activities.

    You are right, as the 735XT does not have the option to record dives. After your reply I came up with a solution. Record a dummy activity (could be anything) and change it to 'diving' in the connect app.

  • Hi! Was just wondering if there was a problem with the system today. I've had trouble pulling up my badges on Garmin Connect and I was all excited about having earned the Virtual Climb badge today at the gym but it's not recognizing the activity. 

    • Badge Type (Virtual Climb - Angels Landing) Floor Climbing activity 1,500ft (My activity registered 488m which is over 1,500ft.)
    • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone) Done
    • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with) No
    • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)? Yes, of course

    Thanks so much. I know the badges may be kind of silly but they sure help to motivate.
