Been following this thread for several months after contacting garmin about allowing cronometer to export food data to it, and see that garmin are just ignoring us all.
MFP is not fit for purpose. GARMIN…
Arrived here trying to see if there was a way to do this. This thread is 2 years old, this would be a great feature. These are the types of features people will be looking for more and more. I like my Garmin, but if another fitness watch company makes some of these features easier I may need to switch.
I would love to see Cronometer support added to Garmin. MFP just doesn't cut it for me. People who are tracking this amount of data about their health and activities want to be able to track just as much data about their diet and calorie intake. Garmin, please add this support.
And if we needed anymore help on why we need this change, here is an article from Lifehacker comparing Cronometer with MFP: https://vitals.lifehacker.com/why-you-should-dump-myfitnesspal-for-cronometer-1837835080
And did you already ask Cronometer to support Garmin? Garmin has an API for developpers, so any 3rd party can develop an interface plugging into Garmin Connect and exchange data with them. That's what MFP did, so there is no reason Cronometer could not do it too. It is in their interest to support diverse hardware platforms. Garmin should better focus on the improvement of their hardware, not spending time on trying to support the infinite number of 3rd party solutions.
Sorry, but you have no idea of this. Cronometer still has a connection to Garmin and uses the Garmin API to receive weight, activity and so on. But there is no possibility to write calories in the garmin databases. Only MyFitnesspal works here. That was a decision of Garmin. You may comprehend that by looking to the calorie tile on garmin connect. Its hardocded.
