Hello everyone,
We have not forgotten about this disruption. I apologize for the delay, but it's still under active investigation.
I will update this thread when I know more.
Hi ColinvZ,
I'm very sorry to anybody who is experiencing this. Your comments have been heard, and I've seen progress on the report. It is still under investigation and is still escalated.
I'm…
All,
Thank you for the information that you have provided. We will continue our investigation and post any updates in this thread. Thank you in advance for your patience while we continue this investigation…
All, if you see a Cross Country Skiing FTP without having any Cross Country Ski activities saved in your account, please reply with the following:
Has anyone else this problem?
For me it is a problem that Garmin reports results/status from an activity form that I have Never Ever performed while using my watch.
1. Estonia. but this is completely irrelevant.
2. hereby i give it for you, yes. but this is completely irrelevant.
3. i'm not bothering with it, because it's completely irrelevant.
4. iPhone 15…
Since this issue is neither related to iOS nor Android, it should probably be in the general 945 forum? I'm using Android too but the FTP calculation has nothing to do with the mobile phone OS. This thread could be moved in general rather than splitting the same problem into iOS/Android.
Same on 735xt, 45plus and edge530 !
Garmin-Kevin so can you confirm that this issue affects Android as well as Apple iOS? Why is there no thread in the general forum then? I don't think that there is a specific code for Android/iOS apart from the standard differences...considering that I don't understand why you want to investigate the same problem in two different branches...
And Epix. The issue is being ignored, as usual.
FrankBMUC I can confirm that we have reports from users on both Android and iOS. I cannot say why no one has started a thread in the Mobile Apps & Web Garmin > Connect Mobile Android forum app. That is why I am directing anyone who has an Android device to post there, so the disruption has better visibility.
Better visibility usually leads to more data for the investigation, which can lead to a faster resolution for the community.
Garmin-Kevin FYI, it's not just on the mobile apps. I can see the same in Reports > All Activities > Functional Threshold Power on the Connect website.
I think it's exactly the opposite. If there are too many different places dealing with the same issue cluttered all over the forum then that's not leading to a better visibility but separated threads and confusion for the users as they think those are separate issues. Garmin developers are certainly not using this forum to work on their development tasks. Either they have been given the task to work on the issue or not. If I understand correctly, this is a global issue not related to Android or iOS and not related to the app but globally all apps and also the web frontend as an internal calculation issue. Since I can't say which devices are affected (945 and others too) I don't know where the global thread should be. I would guess the Vo2Max calculations are sort of a core routine found in many of the current smartwatches but that's just guesswork from my side.
Yes, it's not that hard to scroll through a couple of posts here and understand that it's not related with a single device or mobile app or whatever, it comes from the backend and affects the whole ecosystem, doesn't matter which watches/gps/mobile phone is being used as it's reported in several different ones.
Nobody wants to or will read through several posts in different threads - an Android User won't even read the iOS part of the forum so that doesn't make any sense. If it's a global issue, then there should be a general thread in the general part of the forum and all the offshoots of this issue could be linked and closed. That's pretty much a standard procedure in a regular forum on the internet.
