Unable to Sync after update to IOS 13.1.3

I have a Garmin Edge Explore and after upgrading my iPhone to ios 13.1.3 the Garmin is not automatically uploading to Garmin Connect anymore. Also manual upload does not work properly.

I have set the settings of the iPhone to the suggested settings but nothing works.

Garmin Connect app shows a green bullet to indicate it is connected to Edge Explore, but trying to sync is resulting in a red triangle indicating an error.

I use an iPhone X with ios 13.1.3

The Garmin Explore is on software version 4.24.0.17

  • Tried this and never worked!! Never had any issues. Come on Garmin sort this out!!

  • This is all well and good but although it may have been ‘uploaded’ via Wi-fi, it doesn’t show in Connect nor does it push to Strava.

Yes, didn’t work on 13.1.2 OR 13.1.3 and it was working before.

  • That’s incorrect. If it uploads via WiFi, it will show in connect. It will also show in connect online via the Garmin website.

did the steps of removing watch, removing app and reinstalling/syncing.  Its connecting now but it wont upload anything to strava and I get the "!" mark as well!  Ever since I updated to ios 13.1.3

For those questioning if this is an iOS update or a Garmin update that’s caused the issue: it definitely started for me immediately after my current Garmin update and before my current iOS update  this is DEFINITELY a Garmin issue.

THIS SOLUTION DOES NOT FIX THE APP SYNC ISSUE BUT it does sync your activities to Garmin. Simply plug your watch into your laptop and sync with Garmin Express app.

    Here’s what I’m experiencing:

    1) My Fenix 5 is connected to Garmin Connect app on my iPhone phone but my recent activities won’t sync. I’ve tried all the suggested fixes with no luck.

    2)  This is a brand new issue for me since my Connect app updated to version 4.24 on 10/17/2019. It was working fine with the past version of connect when my iOS version was 13.1.2 and stopped working after the Garmin Connect update.

  • WiFi sync also gets around the problem. You do need to ensure you are however not connected to the phone.

I saw you posted that but even when disconnecting from my phone I could not figure out the steps to do the “WiFi sync.”

  • Go to settings (hold middle left button to bring that up), and navigate to WiFi. Connect to the WiFi and then go from there.

I’ve got the same issue. Connected but not syncing workouts. Fenix 3HR , iPhone XS.

This is very poor indeed. Done everything recommended.
