Garmin Connect prompts me to setup Vivosmart 4 every time I open the app

Every time I open my Garmin Connect app it congratulates me on buying a Vivosmart 4 and prompts me to set it up. I’ve been using a Vivosmart 4 since October. Its been working fine. Nothing has changed in my setup except 3 days ago Garmin Connect App updated.

I have tried to go through the setup on my Vivosmart 4 again to see if that would make the prompts disappear, but the next time I open the app it wants me to setup the Vivosmart 4 again. I also own a Fenix 5s and an Edge 1030 and both of those are fine. They are not getting prompted to setup again.

I wouldn’t mind since it is working in every other way, but each time I open the app I must click through two setup screens to get to my data. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is it going to take an update to the app?

    Soooooooooooooooo.....are they fixing it for everyone, or just people who've requested a ticket and been added to the ticket?

    Same issue! I add also that my VSM4 doesn't recognize stairs...it counts 20-50 floors per day!
    This happened after GC app refresh!!!!

    +1 Please add me to the long list of users having this issue. To add, perhaps, to the mystery, is anyone else experiencing this issue also having problems with automatic Activity tracking? I lost the automatic tracking feature about the same time as the nagging install prompt problem started. Could the two be linked?

    ....... me too. Also have the problem of app crashing regularly before it syncs. All ok upto 10 days or so ago.
    Please, please Garmin - put ot right.
  • Same here. It drives me completely insane every time the app launches. I'm at a point of returning this thing to Amazon just based on how annoying this is.

    Ditto... I noticed this VS4 setup over and over after the last update. So I’m hoping the next update comes soon. It’s annoying and a somewhat bad form for Garmin to take so long to fix or imply that it’s a device malfunction. But, for me, it’s not bad enough to give up on Garmin altogether. At least, not yet.

    +1 here. I was getting the Vivosmart setup screen, but now the app wont start at all. Disappointing.
  • How is it possible that this STILL isn't resolved? I'm aware of Garmins abominable track record regarding bugs but all Vivoactive 4's are affected.

    I have sometimes considered to go and work for Garmin. That's probably the only way to get insight into their bugfix process. And maybe I could show them how better support/aftersales could boost sales.

    Adding my voice to this as well in the hope that Gamin might realise that this is impacting a lot of people and release a patch to fix it. This is a very annoying user experience. Ironically, when I signed up for this forum I got three emails to confirm my details *face palm*. Come on Garmin, please fix this, it's really average.
