Garmin Connect prompts me to setup Vivosmart 4 every time I open the app

Every time I open my Garmin Connect app it congratulates me on buying a Vivosmart 4 and prompts me to set it up. I’ve been using a Vivosmart 4 since October. Its been working fine. Nothing has changed in my setup except 3 days ago Garmin Connect App updated.

I have tried to go through the setup on my Vivosmart 4 again to see if that would make the prompts disappear, but the next time I open the app it wants me to setup the Vivosmart 4 again. I also own a Fenix 5s and an Edge 1030 and both of those are fine. They are not getting prompted to setup again.

I wouldn’t mind since it is working in every other way, but each time I open the app I must click through two setup screens to get to my data. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is it going to take an update to the app?

    I'm having the same issue, in addition, my watch face disappeared and I cannot get it back. I am currently corresponding with someone in Support, but so far haven't resolve the issues. I've had mine for a few months and it was working fine until this past Friday.

    Update: After spending 3 hours with Support, I did the following: First, I turned off the Background App Refresh setting on my Iphone, this did not fix the issue. So, I ultimately deleted the mobile app and all of it's info, cleared the history and website data on my phone, and did a factory reset of my device also deleting all info so it was fresh-from-the-box status. I then reinstalled the mobile app, re-paired my device and went through set up, and it is still not functioning correctly, so the Rep said my only option is to send my device back for a replacement. This is disappointing as it was a gift, so I want to talk to the person who gave it to me first before I hassle with sending it back and waiting 10-14 days for a replacement. Unfortunate and doesn't really make much sense. Why would these devices act this way suddenly?
  • Same issue for me, surely it’s the app update of a few days ago? Had mine for 3 months with no issues like this until the latest update.

    This is happening for my wife and her Vivosmart 4, also. It started on Saturday or Sunday (3/9 or 3/10). She has had to go through the set up at least a dozen times. Id doesn't sound to me like an issue with the device, so sending yours for a replacement wouldn't help. We thought it had something to do with her iPhone going in the laundry for a little while, but apparently not.

    I am not experiencing this with my Forerunner 645.

    I’m having the same issue. As a software engineer this seems like an issue with the app not the device. That is supported by the number of folks complaining here. Would like to see a Garmin person reply hear.
  • Same issue with mine starting about a week ago.
  • Having the same issue here and concur this was NOT happening prior to the recent GC update nor is it happening to my F5X+..... I suspect we will see this remedied upon the next iteration / update of GC.
