Vivofit doesn't sync with Connect Mobile - Sync Upload Error - please try again later

Hi,

Since a few days now my vivofit refuses to sync with my phone (HTC One M8), the syncing starts, and soon after ends with the error message "Sync Upload Error. Please try again later".

Prior to this I didn't have any problem syncing, and then all of a suddent this started happening. The phone "sees" the vivofit fine that I can tell, I tried to logout and log back into Connect. No change.

Any idea about how to solve this issue?

Thanks!

After reviewing the sync logs that have been sent, it looks as though a common theme stems from a timeout while requesting data from a server. This could be due to a slow internet/data connection from the user, or from server load caused by a large number of users attempting to sync at the same time.

Currently we are working to optimize this connection and hope to have a long term fix in place for our next release. In the short term, if you receive a sync failure, we would recommend that you attempt the sync again when you are connected to a strong/high speed wifi or data connection, or wait until a later time to sync.

The logs provided have have given a tremendous insight into the errors being received and will contribute greatly to sync success and stability in our upcoming release.

Thank you for your assistance and patience.

I have the same issue with my HTC one m8. First it took me forever to just set it up. Now it doesn't want to sync and I've tried on my high speed wifi and 4g LTE. It's currently 1:41am where I am so I'm pretty sure it isn't server overload. I'll send my logs also, just sucks to have paid $130+ for this and it don't work right.

I am also on the HTC One M8 and my device doesn't want to sync. I have to pair all over again almost every time I want to sync. Once I pair it again, it syncs and will sync maybe one more time if I'm lucky, then I have to pair it again. It's a PITA.

Hi...I started having problems with my Vivofit a couple of weeks ago. It would suddenly start flashing pair but it would resolve itself when I would sync with my phone (HTC DNA), but this morning when it did this again, it synced okay once, but then did started flashing again. After that, the sync failed multiple times and now the device only includes screens for steps, goal and says "pair"...I've lost the time, date, calories and distance screens. And, my steps for today reset to zero with a new goal which I believe was the original goal when I got the device in March (7500 steps). I absolutely love my Vivofit, but this problem is starting to get a bit annoying. Any ideas?

That's sad this issue is still present with no fix in sight. As far as myself I abandoned the vivofit and I'll be giving it to a friend which wants to try it out. Anyone knows how to do a "factory reset" so it gets in a "brand new" state with no previous data left around?

If the vivofit was successfully registered on your account, then when your friend goes to set it up, the system will know it was once associated with your account, and the app will alert the user that in order to use it, a factory reset will be performed. Once the user "okays" this message, the system will send a "device reset" command to the vivofit automatically (no button pressing, etc. is required on the vivofit itself). I suggest using the 2.4 version of the app, released today.

This is how I fixed my syncing issue

I got the exact same error after 3-4 successful syncing attempts. I wanted to use my Garmin ant+ heart rate monitor strap and in order to do that I had to change the device settings on my phone which required another sync. This is when it started to fail . I am using Garmin Connect app on the Android phone to sync up my data using my gmail account. I also have the Garmin Connect app installed on my iPad which I did not pair it with. So after multiple unsuccessful syncs I decided to unpair and re-pair the device just on my Android phone. When I clicked on show details during the pairing, when it got to the upload update part it would fail at 607 KB from a 1718 KB download .

After about 30 minutes of troubleshooting, what I did to get it to work was I unpaired the vivofit from my android phone, made sure I logged off from my gmail account (Settings --> Sign Out) and shut the app down from task manager so it's no longer running in the background. I also turned off/on the bluetooth setting on android phone. Then on my iPad I logged off my gmail account from the garmin connect and deleted the app. Since my android phone is my priority device, I re-paired the vivofit and now it works. I have made about 8-10 syncs after that and all successful :D:D. So thinking back, I will assume that the vivofit should only be paired and used only on one OS (Android or Apple).

If you need to re-pair your vivofit with the device, just hold down the button until you get to the pair option. It will cycle through sync, sleep then pair.

    Hope this helps.

Just within the last couple days I have been having similar issues as posted above with my Vivofit not syncing to my Garmin Connect mobile app. I uninstalled the app and now I can't get it to fully pair with my device as I get the following error messages:

Upload Status = FAILED [Failed uploading file (3881905383_6_8020.tmp) Reason = 500.]
    Download Status = SUCCESSFUL
    Time Sync Status = SUCCESSFUL
    Overall Sync Status = FAILED

I sent the a copy of my Device Sync Audit report via email to GCMDeviceSyncAudit at Gmail.com

I am facing exactly the same problem. Couldn't sync anymore. Tried to pair newly. Uninstalled garmin connect and reinstalled. Same error all the time. My android phone recognizes the vivofit device, finds also correct pair code starts to connect unless failing on the last mile... Since yesterday nothing changed?
