After I upgraded to version 2.1 I now can't log in, i get message "a problem occured while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect"

if i write wrong password, application detect it as mistake - it means that connection works and my username and password is correct!

tried to uninstal application, but unfortunately no results.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

    Fixed!

    This worked for me.
Unable to sign in to the app for the past week on my samsung galaxy s5 mini.
Changed the time/date setting to Auto.
    All working again now.

Garmin support completely useless. Totally unimpressed with them but glad it's working again.

i'm having this issue on my one plus one since i factory reset it. i only get the "a problem occured" message when i want to login with the facebook connect.

fb connect works fine on web but even deleting / reloading the app did not help. Date / Time / Timezone is set to AUTO and should be correct.

    somebody help me please?

    still here

I just checked the solution from JBIGG. It works perfectly on my side when switching off the wifi connection and just work through mobile. It must be a bug that surely will be fixed in the next version.

Raising this thread from the dead because I had the same issue, 2 years later. I cannot log into Garmin Connect while a wifi connection is enabled. I disable wifi, thus only using cellular data, and then I'm able to log in smoothly and sync with my vivosmart. Candidly, even after logging into Garmin Connect successfully and re-enabling wifi, my vivosmart STILL doesn't sync well unless I disable wifi. I hope that someone from Garmin is reading this (and yes, I've submitted a trouble ticket).

Same Problem! Do we have a Solution?

I have had my Vivosmart since 12/2/15. it worked flawlessly until 2/6/16 (worked great for 2 months.) Now it will not connect to Bluetooth and i can't log into the Connect app on my Galaxy s6. Any ideas on how to get it working properly again?

    still problems

I had a lot of trouble logging in to the Connect android app.

Time and timezone selection were already selected to automatic, but couldn't log in.

I had the time format set as 24-hour. Eventually changed this to 12-hour, and logged on straight away.

I've finally logged in... Had problem from the 7-th Feb.

    My actions:
    1. Reinstalled Garmin Connect (my phone - Nexus 5)
    2. Changed Time and Date from Auto to Manual in phone's settings. And then changed back to Auto.
    3. Changed Time format from "24 hours" to "12 hours" in phone'settings and then changed back to "24 hours"
    4. Logged in Garmin connect using E-mail (not through Google+, Facebook or other social networks)

By the way, I just wanted to return and let people know that logging in and syncing to Garmin Connect from my devices with WIFI disabled has worked flawlessly since I followed that instruction earlier in this thread. I'm not saying that wifi wouldn't sync, but in my experience it has been really slow. On cellular data, device sync has now always been very seamless. For my part, I think that there is a clearly a bug in their app code.

And by the way, there ARE two login usernames: one for Garmin and one for Garmin Connect. It made me crazy a couple years ago. My solution was to use the same username and same password. Problem solved.

Garmin has offered a workaround to sign in issues on Android.

Try to sign in 3 consecutive times and you may be able to successfully sign in. If this doesn't work, they have advised that they are working on a fix for the issue and to use the full Garmin Connect on a computer until the issue is fixed.
  • Bei der Anmeldung bei Garmin Connect ist ein Fehler aufgetreten, Version 3.2

Samsung Galaxy A3, Android Version 5.0.2
    February 7, 2016 I got the message
"A problem occured while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect"
"Bei der Anmeldung bei Garmin Connect ist ein Fehler aufgetreten"

After that, I have updated to Garmin Connect Mobile 3.2
    but the error still persists.

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/
    is accessible.
  • Now i am unable to connect!!

Been using the Vivofit since Christmas but now and for the last few days, I cannot synch to my Galaxy S4. Get the message "A problem has occurred while signing into Garmin Connect"

What the heck is going on? I have software version 4.50 and my account info is still on the Garmin website.

Tried to access using the "No wifi solution" but got the same results. Also tried to re-install the account on my mobile device but get a warning that it is a duplicate account.

Guess it will have to sit in the box until Garmin gets it updated??

I wonder if the other type fitness bands have this kind of problems? Just sayin'
