After I upgraded to version 2.1 I now can't log in, i get message "a problem occured while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect"

if i write wrong password, application detect it as mistake - it means that connection works and my username and password is correct!

tried to uninstal application, but unfortunately no results.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

    3-in-a-row!

Amazingly the three-logins-in-a-row hack did work.
I'm regretting choosing a nice secure password - it is a pain to type once, let alone three times. So, Garmin, sort this out quickly please!!!

(Android 4.3, Nexus tablet, connecting over wifi; it has been working fine up to and including Monday; stopped working today.)

    What does this mean?
  • See post # 39 in this thread
  • Garmin has offered a workaround to sign in issues on Android.

Try to sign in 3 consecutive times and you may be able to successfully sign in. If this doesn't work, they have advised that they are working on a fix for the issue and to use the full Garmin Connect on a computer until the issue is fixed.

    Hi

It's the date&time issue. Just set manually all the date and time setting in your phone (Android). The login works for me...

    - disable: Automatic date and time
    - set date as: dd/mm/yyyy
    - set time as: hh:mm
    - disable: Automatic time zone --> select manually
    - deselect: Use 24-hour format (don't use)
    - make sure that the date is in format: dd/mm/yyyy

After your first login you can change all settings back to automatic. I believe this is US format?
  • - disable: Automatic date and time

    Thanks.
But it was disabled before the error message has appeared.
  • Solved with update to Version 3.3.1

Solved with update to Version 3.3.1 (today)

    Strange:
According to the above-mentioned entries, the error has been appearing again and again since 2014.
...I wonder if the updates are propperly tested by Garmin before releasing them.
    :(

Tried to alter the time and data setting as you said, but it does not work for my LG Leon (Android). Very frustrating problem...

  • It's definitely a time issue. I personally have found that manual settings usually cause more problems than they solve as even being off by 1 minute can cause sync issues.

Personally, I would stick with manual but try to set your computer to the same internet time server as your phone.
  • I had the same problem on a LG G5 running Android 6.0.1. It was related to the Automatic Date/Time Zone issue. Living 6 miles away from the Texas border which changes from MDT to CDT, I turn the Automatic Date options off to avoid confusion. Interesting this post has been around for 2 years and it's still an issue Garmin has not address.

    ** POTENTIAL FIX **

    I had this exact issue.

I fixed it by changing the time on my android phone in settings to 'Get time from network' and the timezone to 'get timezone from network'. Give the settings 2 minutes to 'sink in'!!

    Immediate fix.

    Good luck.
