After I upgraded to version 2.1 I now can't log in, i get message "a problem occured while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect"

if i write wrong password, application detect it as mistake - it means that connection works and my username and password is correct!

tried to uninstal application, but unfortunately no results.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

I forgot to point out that I am no longer in the UK but in Lanzarote having just completed the Ironman Lanzarote.

Could it be that the APP does not work in Lanzarote? I have tried on my wife's Samsung s4 and get the same issue. Mine is a Samsung s5!

Please help someone as I am desperate to upload my Ironman cycle ride to see my stats!!!
  • Strangely, I get this when I try to sign in over wifi. If I turn off wifi I can login over my data connection and this works fine. I then turn on wifi and it continues to work. This only becomes a problem if I logout for some reason since otherwise I stay logged in. My son has the same problem!

I also find that I cannot sync my vivofit over wifi. Again it works over phone data, but not wifi. Actually, it normally seems to work, but reports an error. But when checking, it has usually uploaded most of the data.

  • I just checked the solution from JBIGG. It works perfectly on my side when switching off the wifi connection and just work through mobile. It must be a bug that surely will be fixed in the next version.

Are you able to sign in to https://connect.garmin.com via the same WI-FI connection as the phone/tablet is using?

I'm getti g the same error. I am in Colombia using a Galaxy S4 active.. it worked for 2 days then no more. I have uninstalled and re installed the app. I don't have the data option..I am on WIFI only.
  • Same problem also here, I get access via Web browser but no luck from the app, using the same device in both cases, over 3g or wifi.
Tried with Nexus4 and Galaxy Note, from the Maldives.
I tried to erase cache & data from the app, uninstalled&reinstalled, erased Dalvik cache. Still nothing.
I don't want to try a factory reset because that'd be a pain, plus it is not working on neither of the two devices so hardly a system problem.
    Where are you Garmin?
