Garmin Fenix 6 Golf Course Failed to download

  1. I have a Fenix 6 which has recently updated to software version 21.00. Since updating it fails to download any golf course 
  2. I normally download course via Garmin Connect. The watch finds the course but then fails when tries to download the course 
  3. I have tried resetting the watch, reinstalling Garmin Connect and have updated watch via Garmin Express 

Any other advice please?

  • It seems downloading the course to the app may break something. Not allways but usually. So the process is (perhaps) needed only if a new course needs to be downloaded. Playing the same course again works fine without extra actions (at least so far for me).

    So when going to a new course, I first download it to Garmin Connect app. If it does not download to Fenix, I delete all courses from Garmin Connect app, logout, login and load the course again. So far that has been enough.

    But I fully agree, this should be fixed by Garmin! I had no problems with Fenix 6 for 18 months! Doing logout / login deletes all settings I make to the app (e.g. push notification settings).

  • I'm having the same problem, now for the the third time. After the first two failed golf outings I disconnected my Fenix 6, uninstalled apps (Garmin Connect, Garmin Golf, and Garmin IQ just in case) reset my watch, reinstalled everything, reconnected everything including my CT10s,  and tried it today. Same failed message. This is frustrating me.

    I have a fenix 6s and was having similar issues. I did an update of the watch through garmin express last night. Can't remember the full name of the update, but it was "golf ....... " which seems to have (maybe) resolved the issue. 

    Will reply here if this is not the case, otherwise fingers crossed.

  • Sorry all... it 'appeared' to work but then reported the same error on trying a second and different course.
