Garmin Fenix 6 Golf Course Failed to download

  1. I have a Fenix 6 which has recently updated to software version 21.00. Since updating it fails to download any golf course
  2. I normally download course via Garmin Connect. The watch finds the course but then fails when tries to download the course
  3. I have tried resetting the watch, reinstalling Garmin Connect and have updated watch via Garmin Express

Any other advice please?

  • I am having the same problem

  • Have you tried anything else not listed above? Last option is to return the watch as less than 1 year old

  • No I have had mine for awhile. This is the first time it has started to do this. I have searched the internet and your post is the first mention of it so this is a new bug. I am going to try and contact customer support and see if I can get a work.order opened up. My friend yesterday with a different Garmin watch was not having any problems.

    Very frustrating.

  • I have reported this issue to customer service I suggest you do to. Just means they will escalate it further with more reports. Apparently they are aware and will email me with updates about fixing the problem

  • Yes will also do that. thanks

  • did you call or email - do you have the contact details?

  • contact details?

Depends on your country and location. Best to start at the Garmin Support Center.

In the Contact Us for More Help section click on EMAIL if that's your preference. Again, depending on your country you may or may not see all 3 support options.

Fill out the information regarding your issue. Then click Send Email at the bottom of the form

You'll then get a response after submitting stating the following

We typically respond within 3-5 business days, but it may take a bit longer during busy times of the year or if your query involves additional research. We're here Monday-Friday 7 a.m.– 7 p.m. CT. Closed weekends and holidays.

Once you get a reply back from Garmin, you'll be able to respond to an email address with your personal case number associated with your issue.

If you prefer, you can send an email to [email protected]. However, this could slow down the response as they still need to gather the information requested in the web form and associate your issue with a case number.

  • I too am having this problem. Reboots of both my watch and phone did nothing. Deleting the course and downloading it again on the phone did nothing. This morning I uninstalled Garmin Connect on both the watch and phone (even Garmin Golf) then reinstalled it and it appears to be working again. I am golfing tomorrow and really hope it works then.

  • thanks. How do you uninstall Garmin Connect from the watch? Good luck with your golf tomorrow

  • Thanks for the good luck. As for uninstalling on watch, you have to connect it to your computer, open garmin express, and then see the installed Apps and Widgets. There is 1 golf app and 1 golf widget. I then rebooted the watch after the sync and reinstalled them. But to be honest, I am not sure that was the fix. It may have helped, but I then tried to start a golf round and it suggested the course but failed on the download. That was a few days ago. This morning, is when I wanted to start from scratch and removed all garmin apps from my phone. You MAY only have to do the phone, but it would not hurt to have done it on the watch as well.
