Spotify CIQ App not working correctly

We are investigating reports that the Spotify CIQ App not working correctly and we are wanting your feedback. Please provide some details about what is occurring when you try to use or setup the Spotify Connect IQ App. Below are just a few questions we would like answered.

  • What is happening? (e.g. failing during setup, sync failure, playback failure, etc.)
  • What kind of phone are you using?
  • What kind of headphones are you using?
  • What Garmin Device do you have?
  • When was the last time Spotify worked correctly?
  • Does the problem only happen with a specific Audio File?
  • Are you using Public WiFi? (Using a Wi-Fi Device on a Captive Portal)
  • What software version is on your Device?
  • Do you have a vivoactive 4 (Hero Series or Saga Series) device?
  • I have found a solution for mine. I connected my watch to my laptop then went into Windows Explorer, I'm using Windows 10 by the way so just go into File Explorer. Once here find your watch and click on it there should be 2 folders one says Media the other Primary. My media folder memory was in the red from songs I had loaded on there, so deleting these and getting the memory back to blue sorted the Spotify sync for me. Try this hope it works for you guys.

  • 1) Spotify is failing to sync, displays 0% and nothing happens. I have resolved this though by hotspoting from my partners iphone. I have been unable to find my phones hotspot for some reason.

    2) Motorola G6, Android 9

    3) NA

    4) Garmin forerunner 645

    5) Never worked, until now

    6) NA

    7) Home network, could not find my phones hotspot, worked on my partners iphone's hotspot

    8)  No

  • So, it is working. It is just that you can't find the hotspot function on your phone and you don't have a home wifi that you can use? Or you have a home network that isn't working? Which frequency is it using? The watches only support 2.4 GHz networks. Turn off any 5 GHz networks and see if that works.

Here is what I found with google:

"Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & tethering"

  • It is not working for my home wifi network, it Just shows "Syncing Spotify 0% Complete" when I try to upload playlists. I changed my phones hotspot to frequency to 2.4 GHz and the garmin can pick up the hotspot now but I am getting the same problem as my home wifi network. It just says "Syncing Spotify 0% Complete" when I try to upload music. I have only managed to get it working by tethering it with my partners iphone's hotspot, but I can't use up all her data loading songs on to my garmin

    Thanks fo your help

    Forerunner 245 music

It last worked at the beginning of 2021

It happens when trying to download any content from Spotify

I'm using my own WiFi connection

I'm using the latest version. Updated today.

     I don't have a Vivoactive 4

  • I cancelled my Spotify subscription last year and that seems to have fixed the problem.

    (I now use Runcasts instead.)
