I've a HTC 10
be aware if you do not have the connect app running in the background there are things that won't work (eg all widgets that depend on internet requests such as the weather widget won't work)
Me also got the same phone in the past and I somehow made it to disappear.
I think you have to swipe the Notification to the left sight, so a gear appears, where you can disable this information. If I remember right :o
What version of android? On 8 there is an option "Optimize battery usage" which if enabled, should stop the service from running.
Did you find a solution this?
I've just moved from an iPhone to Android. I'm only half a day in to using my new android phone and I'm pretty frustrated how Garmin Connect works on Android.
I don't use any smart notifications of any sort on my Fenix watch. Nor weather updates. The only time the watch utilised Bluetooth was when synced the watch with Garmin Connect on the phone. And that was only when I manually started the app.
Otherwise the phone and watch didn't talk to each other.
But now on Android, Garmin Connect constantly wants to talk to the watch and I keep getting low battery warnings from my phone. (phone currently has low battery)
