I found the fix if any of you still have the issue!!!
You will need to connect your garmin directly to a computer with the charge cable.
Go to windows explorer find the Garmin device and go to Garmin/remotesw…
Hello
still not solving my issues of GPS.
any other alternative solution
The epo.bin file appears, but as soon as i remove the Garmin device for the USB it delets the epo.bin file itself.
I updated everything (Device + Garmin Express) and same problem.
How do you fix it? By updating in express? TIA
I'm having exactly th same problem IV tried everything
I spoke to someone from the Garmin support team, and this issue was fixed for me in minutes. I was instructed to connect my watch to my laptop and then delete the current remotesw file from it, and empty my trash after also. I then had to reconnect my watch to laptop and re-sync it using Garmin express, to get a new remotesw folder with updated satellite connectivity. I then started an outdoor activity, and left it outside on the bit where it would usually be stuck on waiting for GPS signal for a very long time.
The person I spoke to said that it could take up to 40 mins to reconnect to the satellites and get a GPS signal, however mine took less than 5 mins after doing the previous steps. I hope this helps!
Thank you.. I'll try this solution.. Hope works on my end
Thanks for adding to this thread. It's the one that worked for me. I tried deleting the file and the re-sync and leaving the watch outside for a bit... and it's working. Thanks again!
Hi
Having the same issue with my vivosmart HR+
Connected it to Garmin express and did sync. After sync I could see the 'epo. Bin' file.
Then I checked my device, the issue was still there.
Connected my device back to PC, now couldn't see the 'epo' file !!!
Somehow it got deleted !!!
Please suggest if there is any other solution
Thank you
This solution worked for me today! Thank you very much for posting this fix online! I would like to add something for other users who may be having this GPS issue. The first time I tried the solution mentioned above it did not work, but then I tried it again a little differently the second time. So the second time around I first deleted the epo.bin file that was inside the remotesw folder, and then I deleted the remotesw folder. After that I ejected/disconnected my vivosmart hr+ watch from the computer *without* re-syncing the device to Garmin Express. I waited a few moments. Then I connected my watch to the computer again and Garmin Express synced the device (thus replacing the remotesw and the epo.bin files with new ones). I then ejected/disconnected my device from the computer and went outside. I started an activity, selected GPS outdoor, and it got a signal within a couple of minutes!
